"forf of july"

JRC 2012 - Independence Day

I woke Tashya up yesterday morning and said "Tash, it's the Fourth of July! Time to get up!"
Tash: "It's not forf' of July in my dream."
Me: "Well what are you dreaming about?"
Tash: "I'll tell you in a minute. Go away."
...............

Grateful to live in a country where cows can be horses, pirates ride in wagons, and the qualifications for a genuine "parade" are pretty much whatever you want them to be.
Also, not everybody knows their national anthem.

Happy 4th of July from camp!

afternoon at the lake

things learned:
the rope swing is my friend.
the branch that trapped my foot as i was climbing out of the lake and made me fall and faceplant back into the lake -- NOT my friend.

"let's check tsenny's ears"

kyle doing magic tricks with tashya last summer.
feeling a little bit nostalgic and missing my favorite little 4 year old and my friend.

please watch tash closely when she finds his coin this last time--- priceless:

jrc 2010 photo overload

i finally got around to buying a new charger for my camera battery. while my trusty iphone has been super bomb at documenting my life for the past 10 months, i've missed my camera. i haven't turned that thing on in forever, and upon doing so, i found allll these little gems from the ranch last summer. mostly pictures of tashya and emilee. and some pretty adorable videos of tash with her ladybug friend whom she named "carl." (totally appropriate name for a ladybug.)

please enjoy this photo feast of camp last year. and try not to die at how darling (and sassy) these girls are.

---one afternoon i was upstairs changing and walked out of my room to find this: tashya wearing kyle's hat and teaching him about princess jewelry.---

--at the end of family camp--

tashya and carl ♥

me: "is that carl your best friend?"
tashya: "no."
me: "who's your best friend?"
tashya: "Sam."
(sam is featured above in the red bandanna, shirt and apron.)

el verano

i had an incredible summer. i learned how to be happy with myself, made new friends that are now like family, worked on my patience, attended a million weddings, and even got a little tan (really! i did). i decided that instead of writing a post about each individual thing i am going to lump them all together in this summary of my june to september months. readyyyyy, BREAK.

my baby sister graduated from high school

a few days after that i started my summer job at jameson ranch. i nannyed two very cute and strong-willed little girls.

got roped by a cute cowboy

"married" an 11 year old on Gold Rush Day

and tried to see how many people we could fit on a single couch at one time.

i played in the mud

turned 22

and made new, lifelong friends.

i crashed The Boat

went without a car for three months, then purchased Ziggy.

Erin got married :) to Domingo. they are amazing examples to me of what love is.

my best cousin Liz and one of my best friends Joe got married. i introduced them last year. they are sooo happy. i was SO blessed to be there and to have a special connection with both the bride and the groom. it was one of the best days of my life thus far.

annd you better BELIEVE we double-dutched at their reception.

derik came home! welcome back Elder Krauss

annnd that was my summer! my job at the ranch came to an end with the summer and i went back to spending every day with my lil bff Anna and her two brothers.

i'm doing great, taking one day at a time and trying to enjoy life while figuring out what the heck to do with my life. for now i'm a full-time nanny for two of mary's sisters' families, i have a calling in the single's branch (FHE mom) and i'm trying to save as much moolah as possible (luckily Ziggy gets 30 miles to the gallon. atta boy).

the end!
